LayerHouse vs Veras AI
Veras generates AI visualizations from inside your design software. LayerHouse edits a render you already have, in the browser, with no plugin.
Veras, from EvolveLAB, is an AI visualization tool that plugs into SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, Archicad, and Vectorworks, and also has a web version for uploading an image or sketch. It starts from your model and produces new views, with controls such as how closely the result follows your geometry.
LayerHouse starts one step later. You already have a render from your pipeline and the client has approved the view. LayerHouse is the AI render editor for architects: you upload the image, select a region, give an instruction or a texture, and the rest of the frame stays as approved.
The difference in one line
Veras is closer to "produce the visualization from the model." LayerHouse is "revise the visualization you already approved." Many offices could use both, at different moments.
Side by side
- Starting point. Veras: your 3D model or an uploaded image. LayerHouse: a finished still (JPG, PNG, or WEBP).
- Where it runs. Veras: a plugin inside the modeling app, plus a web app. LayerHouse: the browser only, no plugin.
- Typical job. Veras: explore and generate views. LayerHouse: change one finish, one surface, or one object on an approved view.
- Materials. LayerHouse lets you attach the actual texture, such as oak or travertine, instead of describing it.
When to choose LayerHouse
- The view is approved and the client asks for one change.
- You want the rest of the image to stay exactly as it was.
- You do not want to install anything or open the model again.
A practical way to think about it
Early in a project, when the design is still moving, you want a tool that reads the model and produces new views fast. Late in a project, when the view is approved and the notes are small, you want a tool that touches only what the note names. These are two different moments, and the tools are built for different ones.
What a late-stage revision looks like in LayerHouse
Upload the approved still. Select the floor and attach the oak sample. Select the sofa and ask for a darker fabric. Each edit applies to its own region, and the rest of the image stays as it was. See how to change a material in a render or the guides for SketchUp and Revit renders.
When Veras is the better fit
If you want to generate and explore views directly from your SketchUp, Revit, or Rhino model, that is what Veras is built for. LayerHouse is not an image generator and does not read your model.
